Specialized Equine Services/VETS: Empowering Lives Through the Healing Power of Horses
Announcing Winners of Hog Raffle & Upcoming Halloween Sock Hop Fundraiser
Makanda, IL – Specialized Equine Services (SES), through its VETS (Veteran Equine Therapeutic Services) program, continues its mission to improve the quality of life for veterans and individuals with special needs, harnessing the healing power of horses. We are excited to announce the winners of our recent Hog Raffle: Brad Maloney and Robert Keith, each of whom won half a hog!
To further our mission, SES is hosting a Halloween Sock Hop Fundraiser on Friday, October 25, 2024, from 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM at the Carterville Community Center (120 N Greenbriar, Carterville, IL). Admission is $20 for adults and $10 for kids, which includes BBQ, hotdogs and sides. Guests are encouraged to come in Halloween costumes or classic sock hop attire and enjoy an evening filled with dancing, music, and fun for the whole family.
This exciting event is not only an opportunity for community fun but also supports SES's ongoing efforts to enhance our new facility at 830 Rowan Road, Makanda, IL. With your continued support, we've been able to install a large fan for comfort, and now we’re aiming to secure a sponsor for a wheelchair ramp and hydraulic lift to make our facility more accessible to all.
