DEACONESS ILLINOIS CROSSROADS AUXILIARY OFFICERS INSTALLED FOR NEW YEAR

Dec. 19, 2024

The newest Deaconess Illinois Crossroads Auxiliary officers for the 2025-2026 year were installed earlier this month.

During a special candlelit ceremony, each officer promised to serve Deaconess Illinois Crossroads, the community and each other.

Seven positions were filled total, with Carolyn Marks re-elected as president.

"After serving a two-year term as the Auxiliary president, I can see the changes we have made to create outlets for positivity,” Marks said. “I also have a clear plan of what I would like to see done in my next two years of service."

The Deaconess Illinois Crossroads Auxiliary officers help in many ways, including patient transport and taking shifts at the gift shop and information desk. Every Christmas, the volunteers raise funds to help purchase presents for local children.

First vice president Tawanna Caplan said she is honored to be a part of the Auxiliary. "Our group of volunteers are special and hold skills that are unique,” Caplan said. “Serving in this position as first vice president, my goal is to grow the group and maintain what makes us special."

Also elected were Joyce Bardo as second vice president, Jane Williams as treasurer, Mary Dover as secretary, Harriet Galloway as assistant treasurer and Carol Martin as assistant secretary.
